Terms of Service
The terms, in plain English. By using The Kantinental, you agree to them. Last updated June 2026.
1. The thinkers are AI, not the real people
Everyone you talk to here is an AI playing a part, trained on writing that is out in the open. They are not the actual Smith, Wollstonecraft, or anyone else, and nothing they say is a real quote from the real person. They can also get things wrong, so double-check anything that matters before you rely on it.
2. Don't be a problem
Please do not use The Kantinental to harass, threaten, or proposition anyone, to hunt down or expose real people, or to paste in or pull out long stretches of copyrighted text. And leave the security alone: no breaking it, flooding it, or working around it.
3. Your account
You sign in with a one-click magic link to your email, and you need to be at least 16. You can close your account anytime. It is permanent, and the Privacy Policy spells out exactly what happens when you do.
4. Your words, your tables
What you write stays yours. Posting it gives us permission to store it, show it at the table, and include it in the summary card a table leaves behind when it closes. A couple of practical notes: at an open (public) table, anyone seated can close the table for everyone, and staff can read and moderate open tables the same as any guest who follows the link. A Reserved table is private, so staff cannot read it. The Privacy Policy has the full details.
5. Rounds and membership
Some features run on rounds, and you can buy rounds or a membership through Stripe. One-off round purchases are not refundable unless the law requires it. A membership you can cancel anytime from the billing portal.
6. No promises
The Kantinental comes as-is. It is here for good arguments and good company, not professional advice, and we cannot be responsible for anything you do because an AI thinker said so.
7. If you break the rules
If you break these terms, we may hide what you posted or close your account. That is us looking out for everyone else at the bar.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States. That is the home court if we ever end up in a dispute.
9. If these terms change
We will update these from time to time. If it is a real change, everyone signed in gets an email.
