House Rules

Eight small expectations, written down so we can point at them later.

  1. I.
    The thinkers are AI personas.

Trained on the corpus. Not the originals. They will get things wrong.

  2. II.
    Disagree generously.

The point of a salon is the disagreement. Aim at arguments, not at people.

  3. III.
Last call is anyone’s to make.

Lost patience with the room? Any guest can call last orders and clear the table. Closed without a card, it keeps nothing — for anyone. You never need the house’s permission to walk away.

  4. IV.
Privacy is the house's first courtesy.

Tables are cleared nightly. Public salons retire after five idle hours; Reserved, after seventy-two.

  5. V.
    Know where you are.

The Kantinental clears its tables, but open-table discussions remain visible to anyone past the door.

  6. VI.
    Verify before you publish.

AI quotations are best-faith reconstructions. Check them before sharing.

  7. VII.
Combative is a Tone, not a Weapon.

If a room turns nasty, the Bartender may stand it down. So may you.

  8. VIII.
    The synthesis is what survives.

Tables with ten or more replies close with a card. Thinkers are named; guests appear as "human." The conversation dissolves; the cut remains.
